The days leading up to the 99th running of the Indianapolis 500 will be filled with exciting USAC short-track racing action. The 45th running of the Tony Hulman Classic for the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series kicked things off yesterday at Terre Haute Action Track, and the racing continues this week with the Traxxas USAC Silver Crown Series, including the 100-mile Hoosier Hundred today at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and the 100-lap Day Before the 500 on Saturday at the paved oval in Brownsburg, Ind. Defending Silver Crown champion Kody Swanson currently holds a nine-point lead over Jacob Wilson, and this week’s races will be key in the race for the championship.
